O Hindus ! Perform Simollanghan from the perspective of protecting the Nation and Dharma !...H.H. Dr. Jayant Athavale

O Hindus ! Perform Simollanghan not merely as a ritual but from the perspective of protecting the Nation and Dharma !
Dushehra is the day all the ten directions lost the battle to the Hindu Deities ! On this very day King Raghu of Ayodhya, His desc-endant Shriram and Goddess Mahishasurmardini attained vict-ories in their respective battles.
On this very day, Arjun the owner of the Gandiv bow took out weapons hidden in the hollow of a shami tree and emerged victori-ous against the army of Kouravs singlehandedly, thereby reconfirming the name for Vijayadashmi (Vijay = Victory, dashmi = Tenth day in a Hindu lunar fortnight). This day, which represents victory of Hindu Deities and Hindu patriots is the one that awakens a winning attitude and desire to win amongst Hindus !
Hindus worship according to Kshatradharma as mentioned in scriptures on this day. It is time Hindus realise that this is not merely a festival to openly worship the shami tree which destroys demerits (Unrighteous attitude) as well as the weapons meant for destroying the enemy (Unrighteous people), but is also a festival that gives a clear message that Hindus should cross the enemy borders through simollanghan and surrender to Goddess Aparajita (Meaning ‘one who is undefeated’), so that they too are never defeated.
Simollanghan and other acts performed on the day of Dushehra nowadays have become more of rituals. Worship of Deity Aparajita has almost vanished and the very obvious consequence is visible everywhere - the pessimistic attitude in Hindus. The vicious cycle of politicians looting the gold in the form of national wealth to fill up their treasures in Swiss Banks and Hindus looting only the leaves of apta as the symbol of gold has been going on for years.
Today the situation is such that only Kouravs have weapons, while Pandavs (Hindus) are banned from possessing even a trishul (Trident) in their own homeland.
It has become a routine that only Hindus have to bear the pois-onous consequence of tolerance, forbearance, solidarity and secularism, while Kouravs are spitting venom with no holds barred.
Infiltration by terrorists that transgress borders of the Nation from every direction has become the order of the day, and conversely, patriotic Hindus who raise their voice against the infiltrators are labeled as enemies of the Nation. Therefore, it is high time Hindus sincerely introspect about celebrating the festival of Vijayadashmi; because in reality, it is humiliation that they have to face everywhere.
O Hindus, remember that a symbolic gesture of looting leaves of apta does not bring home gold, neither does visiting some nearby temple in the afternoon amount to simollanghan ! When Mahishasurs in the form of the corrupt, Ravans in the form of traitors to Dharma and Duryodhans in the form of terrorists have become impudent, perform simollanghan keeping in mind the objective of protecting the Nation & Dharma, and not merely as a ritual. In Shrimadbhagwadgita, Shrikrushna has advised Arjun to fight the battle to destroy the unrighteous. This teaching of Shrikrushna is not just limited to Arjun, but is meant for all the generations.
O Hindus ! Firmly remember this teaching of Shrimadbhagwadgita on the auspicious occasion of Dushehra ! Make an auspicious resolve to fight the internal enemies like corruption, hooliganism, casteism, fanaticism and external enemies like terrorists, and preserve the heritage of Hindu Deities who had conquered all the ten directions !
