2G: NDA to boycott Chidambaram in Parliament

New Delhi: The Bharatiya Janata Party-led National Democratic Alliance has decided to

boycott Union Home Minister P Chidambaram in Parliament. BJP leader SS Ahluwalia said on Monday that the NDA will not allow Chidambaram to speak in either the Lok Sabha or the Rajya Sabha unless the Prime Minister Manmohan Singh gets him to resign in the 2G spectrum allocation case.

Senior BJP MP LK Advani will move an adjournment motion in the Lok Sabha on Tuesday when the Winter Session of Parliament starts. The BJP has decided to corner the Congress-led United Progressive Alliance Government on corruption, price rise and black money issues.
"BJP will back adjournment motion on price rise to be moved by the Left," said Ahluwalia indicating that the Opposition parties intend to take on the Government unitedly.
The BJP has accused Chidambaram of being involved in the 2G spectrum allocation scam when he was the finance minister during UPA-1.

"The CBI should concentrate on Mr Chidambaram's role in the 2G scam instead of dragging in the late Pramod Mahajan," BJP spokesperson Prakash Javdekar had said on November 19.
Javadekar made the statement while commenting after the Central Bureau Of Investigation (CBI) filed an FIR on the 2G spectrum allocation during late BJP leader and former telecom minister Pramod Mahajan's tenure between 2001 and 2003.

Janata Party President Subramanian Swamy has also alleged Chidambaram is involved in the scam which has seen former telecom being arrested and sent to jail along with Dravida Munnettra Kazhagam (DMK) MP Kanimozhi and several senior telecom executives.
