Dr. Swamy's Statement on controversy over Koodankulam Nuclear Plant

Now that the former President of India, noted scientist and scholar, Dr. Abdul Kalaam has clearly announced that the Koodankulam Nuclear Plant in Tamil Nadu is completely safeguarded and safe, the agitation that is being led by a coalition of foreign funded NGOs, Christian missionaries of the Catholic Church and the British Colonial stooge organization, namely, Dravida Kazhgam, should be terminated forthwith by the Tamil Nadu Government.

I demand that the Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Ms J. Jayalalitha instead of pandering to the anti-national demand to wind up the Koodankulam Nuclear Plant, should give a notice to the demonstrators to clear out within 24 hours or alternatively invoke the National Security Act, the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act and the Goonda Act to forcibly clear the area around the Nuclear Plant of all these busbodies.

If this bogus agitation on behalf of certain Western European powers had not taken place, Tamil Nadu would have got by 20th November 1000 MW extra electricity generation capacity and another 1000 MW next year. This additional capacity would have wiped out the power deficit in the State and thus helped the farmers and industry. Hence Ms Jayalalitha, Chief Minister must perform her constitutional and statutory duties to see that the national interest is not sacrificed by those protesting at the behest of anti-national forces.
