New Delhi, 29 November, 2011 :
Janata Party president Subramanian Swamy today registered a complaint with the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) about black money stashed away in tax havens.
Swamy met the CBI director today (Monday) morning and handed over a complaint regarding alleged illegal bank accounts of Indians abroad.
CBI Director A.P. Singh told Swamy, who heads an Action Committee Against Corruption, that this will be examined and acted upon if the investigative agency has the necessary jurisdiction.
Shri Swamy had narrated significance of his this complaint in detail during his press interaction in Ahmedabad early this month(video above).
He had said, “to bring nation’s black money parked illegally abroad, Baba Ramdev is working with the people and Anna Hazare is active in implementation of new Jan Lokpal bill. However we some people discussed to add a new dimension to this movement. We are not worried if we don’t get new law. We believe that while today’s laws can delay the things, they are capable to deliver justice. We are fighting 2G battle with present laws and we have achieved result. So we have created the Action Committee against Corruption in India consisting 15 persons. And after studying the laws we have concluded that we will go to Central Bureau of Investigation(CBI) on 28th and will file FIR against unidentified persons who have parked country’s money abroad illegally. If CBI refuses to take our complaint, we will move to court to direct CBI to register our complaint. Later we will seek letter rogatory from court. If some Indian commits crime in foreign land, the Indian court can issue a later rogatory which is a letter seeking cooperation of other country. We would like to have such letter issued to Switzerland. I personally have my many students working in Switzerland who will help. We want to do what government is not doing, and not wishing to do. There’s a sum of Rs 70 lakh crore parked abroad and if money is brought back, now one in the country would have to pay tax for next 10 years. 110 new universities can be opened. Lots of infrastructural works can be taken up.”

Dr. Subramanian Swamy opposes
FDI in retail
Patna, Nov. 29 (ANI): Criticising the decision to approve 51 percent Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) in multi-brand retail, Janata Party chief Subramanian Swamy on Tuesday said the opening up the market to foreign investors would harm Indian industries.
"In our country, we have had business and businessmen since long and they have the ability to compete and in the present scenario one has to give three four times more the cost of capital as they (foreign companies) bring low-priced capital so no competition can take place. By bringing the retail bill, our industries will be rooted out," said Swamy.
"Secondly, optimum utilization of the black money would be made if the retail bill is brought and that is why I oppose it," he added.
The political upheaval over FDI in retail failed to subside today despite an all-party meeting, with a united opposition, joined by UPA constituents Trinamool Congress and DMK, stalling proceedings by remaining adamant on their demand for a rollback.
Last Thursday, the Cabinet approved 51 percent FDI in multi- brand retail, As per this move, many global retailers like Wal-Mart, Carrefour and Tesco can open outlets in India.
The Cabinet also decided to remove the 51 per cent cap on FDI in single brand format under which companies in food, lifestyle and sports business run stores. Owners of brands like Adidas, Gucci, Hermes, LVMH and Costa Coffee can have full ownership of business in India.
Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) or foreign investment refers to the net inflows of investment to acquire a lasting management interest in an enterprise operating in an economy other than that of the investor.
It is the sum of equity capital, reinvestment of earnings, other long-term capital, and short-term capital as shown in the balance of payments. It usually involves participation in management, joint venture, transfer of technology and expertise. (ANI)

Mangaluru (Karnataka) :
It is impossible to establish peace by targeting Hindus ! – Dr. K. Prabhakar Bhatt, Zonal- coordinator, RSS

Statement of Dr. Subramanian Swamy, President of the Janata Party.
November 22, 2011
1. I am happy to announce that the Janata Party Central Parliamentary Board has decided to contest the Piravam by election in Kerala. The party will field Kerala State Yuva Janata President Varghese P.Cherian as the party candidate. In Kerala a new Hindutva-Christian alliance is emerging to counter the growing Islamic militancy and Talibanism emerging in the State.
2. The JPB has approved the appointment of Dr.Suneel Maggo as the President of the Delhi State Janata Party. Dr.Maggo is a well-known Chartered Accountant and has a Ph.D. in Banking Mr.Sapan Samumgou Singh, as the Manipur State Janata Party President. He is a well known advocate in Imphal and has long political experience. The Janata Party has also approved a 21-member Executive for the State. It has been decided that in the State Assembly elections next year, the Janata Party will contest in a large number of constituencies.
3. I have been now vindicated by the Intelligence Bureau and RAW reports to the Prime Minister that the anti-Koondankulam Nuclear Reactor agitation has been financed by anti-national, foreign inspired Christian missionaries, aided by the LTTE left overs. The Tamil Nadu Government must now clear the area around the Nuclear Reactor of all demonstrators. If the Tamil Nadu Government does not act, the Centre must declare the whole of Tirunveli and Kanya Kumar districts as disturbed areas and ask the CRPF to take over the administration of the law and order of the area.
4. Koondunkulam Reactor was about to generate from 20th November the capacity of electricity of 1000 MW and another 1000 MW in February, 2012. This anti-national foreign inspired agitation has caused delay for meeting the schedule and caused great hardship for agricultural and industrial production in the State. Hence the Chief Minister must stop playing cheap politics in the national interest and act before she is forced to act.

2G: NDA to boycott Chidambaram in Parliament
New Delhi: The Bharatiya Janata Party-led National Democratic Alliance has decided to
boycott Union Home Minister P Chidambaram in Parliament. BJP leader SS Ahluwalia said on Monday that the NDA will not allow Chidambaram to speak in either the Lok Sabha or the Rajya Sabha unless the Prime Minister Manmohan Singh gets him to resign in the 2G spectrum allocation case.
Senior BJP MP LK Advani will move an adjournment motion in the Lok Sabha on Tuesday when the Winter Session of Parliament starts. The BJP has decided to corner the Congress-led United Progressive Alliance Government on corruption, price rise and black money issues.
"BJP will back adjournment motion on price rise to be moved by the Left," said Ahluwalia indicating that the Opposition parties intend to take on the Government unitedly.
The BJP has accused Chidambaram of being involved in the 2G spectrum allocation scam when he was the finance minister during UPA-1.
"The CBI should concentrate on Mr Chidambaram's role in the 2G scam instead of dragging in the late Pramod Mahajan," BJP spokesperson Prakash Javdekar had said on November 19.
Javadekar made the statement while commenting after the Central Bureau Of Investigation (CBI) filed an FIR on the 2G spectrum allocation during late BJP leader and former telecom minister Pramod Mahajan's tenure between 2001 and 2003.
Janata Party President Subramanian Swamy has also alleged Chidambaram is involved in the scam which has seen former telecom being arrested and sent to jail along with Dravida Munnettra Kazhagam (DMK) MP Kanimozhi and several senior telecom executives.

2G Scam : Dr. Swamy gets file on PC-Raja communication
New Delhi, November 18 :
A new warfront is all set to open up on 2G. The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Thursday handed over a 2G file, running into 500 pages, on the correspondence between the home ministry and the telecom ministry related to lock-in period on sale of equity, to Janata Party chief Subramanian Swamy. The Janata Party leader, who had sought transcript of conversation between home minister and former finance minister P Chidambaram and jailed DMK member and former telecom minister A Raja, told reporters he was happy with what he had got. The file was given to Swamy in response to his application in the special CBI court recently.
According to CBI, the file contains correspondence between the two ministries — finance and telecom — and not the two ministers. “The material in the file is not relevant to the 2G scam investigation and therefore not relied upon by the CBI for prosecution,” a senior CBI official said.
Swamy has alleged complicity between Chidambaram and Raja on the 2G spectrum allocation issue, with respect to the equity sale policy. CBI had seized the documents related to this policy and correspondence between Raja and Chidambaram on the matter on October 22, 2009, during its probe.
These documents mainly talk about whether Swan and Unitech Wireless, two companies accused in the 2G scam, should be allowed to induct partners soon after the grant of licence. The allegation against the beneficiaries in the scam is that companies were given pan-India 2G telecom licence at a throwaway price (set way back in 2001) of Rs 1,650 crore in 2007-08, and then they made windfall profit by inducting foreign partners into their respective ventures. The companies however claimed that there was no divestment of promoters' equity, and that induction of partners involved dilution of stake by bringing in additional equity. The government did not raise any objection on the matter.
"I was looking for correspondence between Raja and Chidambaram on the sale of equity by Swan, Unitech. I'm satisfied with what I've got. There are file notings too,” Swamy told reporters after his meeting with the CBI officials on Thursday. Swamy looked happy and confident as he stepped out of CBI headquarters . He said, “I am convinced I have a strong case when I go to the trial court.”
He also said, “The fact that the two companies were allowed to sell their stake at several times the price they paid for the licences, at the cost of the exchequer and the stake was sold to companies that posed a security threat, constitutes an offence under the Prevention of Corruption Act.”
While Norway's Telenor partnered Unitech for the Unitech Wireless JV, UAE-based Etisalat tied up with Swan. Etisalat had to face security hurdles before entering India.
"It is a DoT file dealing with the reintroduction of lock-in period for the equity held by promoters in Telecom licencee companies. This condition was not there at the time of introduction of UAS License regime in November 2003,” the CBI official said. While CBI says that there was no lock in period at the time, Swamy claims that the lock-in period was done away with by Chidambaram.
A Raja, the main 2G spectrum scam accused and former telecom minister has said in his defence on several occasions that Chidambaram had given him the go-ahead ahead to allow the two companies to induct partners.

Imphal : Janata Party will contest in a large number of constituencies, in next year State Assembly Elections
I am happy to announce that the Janata Party Central Parliamentary Board has approvedthe appointment of Mr. Sapan Samumgou Singh, as the Manipur State Janata Party President. He is a well known advocate in Imphal and has long political experience. The Janata Party has also approved a 21-member Executive for the State. It has been decided that in the State Assembly elections next year, the Janata Party will contest in a large number of constituencies.
Now that the Intelligence Bureau and RAW have submitted reports to the Prime Minister that the anti-Koondankulam Nuclear Reactor agitation has been financed by anti-national, foreign inspired Christian missionaries, aided by the LTTE left overs, the Prime Minister cannot hesitate any more to give a direction to the Tamil Nadu Government under Article 256 of the Constitution, to clear the area around the Nuclear Reactor of all demonstrators, after issuing an eight hour warning to them to leave the area. If the Tamil Nadu Government does not act according to this direction, the Centre must declare the whole Tirunveli and Kanya Kumar districts as disturbed areas and ask the CRPF to take over the administration of the law and order of the area.

Dr. Swamy's Statement on controversy over Koodankulam Nuclear Plant
Now that the former President of India, noted scientist and scholar, Dr. Abdul Kalaam has clearly announced that the Koodankulam Nuclear Plant in Tamil Nadu is completely safeguarded and safe, the agitation that is being led by a coalition of foreign funded NGOs, Christian missionaries of the Catholic Church and the British Colonial stooge organization, namely, Dravida Kazhgam, should be terminated forthwith by the Tamil Nadu Government.
I demand that the Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Ms J. Jayalalitha instead of pandering to the anti-national demand to wind up the Koodankulam Nuclear Plant, should give a notice to the demonstrators to clear out within 24 hours or alternatively invoke the National Security Act, the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act and the Goonda Act to forcibly clear the area around the Nuclear Plant of all these busbodies.
If this bogus agitation on behalf of certain Western European powers had not taken place, Tamil Nadu would have got by 20th November 1000 MW extra electricity generation capacity and another 1000 MW next year. This additional capacity would have wiped out the power deficit in the State and thus helped the farmers and industry. Hence Ms Jayalalitha, Chief Minister must perform her constitutional and statutory duties to see that the national interest is not sacrificed by those protesting at the behest of anti-national forces.

Will Dr Subramaniam Swamy be the face of the third alternative in next election?
While the Action Committee Against Corruption in India will take up issues of corruption and fight them legally, Dr Swamy is perhaps building up credible resource persons from the society to perform the role of political candidates for the next general elections
At a closed door meeting in Pune, Dr Subramaniam Swamy spoke freely about ACACI, the forum he has established last fortnight to fight corruption through existing laws under the Constitution. The meeting was organised by Prabodhan Manch and Professionals Against Corruption who have invited Dr Swamy for a public lecture in Pune on the 2G Scam. The following interview has been developed from the interaction held therein
Moneylife (ML): Tell us something about your new forum, Action Committee Against Corruption in India, which you have launched about a fortnight back?
Dr Subramaniam Swamy (DSS): There are three ways to fight corruption. One is the Anna Hazare movement, which is campaigning for revamping of laws and making them free of loopholes. The second is Swami Ramdev's mass mobilization to bring back the black money, stashed out of the country. I felt one more area had remained vacant, that of fighting corruption with existing laws under the Constitution, without mobilization of the public. Hence, I have floated the Forum, Action Committee Against Corruption in India or ACACI, which would use existing national and international laws to recover illegal funds deposited in foreign banks by Indian nationals. Also, corruption is not about politicians getting rich or contractors getting contracts. Corruption is multi-dimensional and can destroy our country.
ML: With corruption in India deep-rooted, how much will ACACI achieve?
DSS: I believe that if high level corruption ends, the lower level corruption would also end as it would have a filtered down effect. A good example is that of Hong Kong, which is the one of the cleanest country in terms of corruption after an Independent Public Prosecutor was established. People in India now want action - somebody should go to jail, somebody should lose his job. The 2G Scam is my biggest challenge as the high profile culprits should be ultimately convicted and not acquitted. They have tremendous money power to pay for a battery of best lawyers in the country. At the other end is the trial judge, the Central Bureau Of Investigation (CBI) and myself, so you can imagine how tough it is. Many people have told me they (the accused) would all be acquitted and everything will be forgotten with the passage of time. I have created promise and I am determined to take it to the logical end.
Things can happen - the religious minded people call it `God.' No one ever thought that Emergency would be lifted. They said it will carry on for the rest of our lives but then it was lifted and Indira Gandhi lost her own election.
ML: How are you going to pursue the objective of ACACI?
DSS: The core committee would comprise leading personalities from various fields like CBI’s former joint director BR Lall, noted scholar MD Nalapat and former IAS officer V Sundaram amongst others. Like Pune, I will be travelling to various cities to form regional committees, which would take up local issues, which are of national importance. For example the Lavasa issue in Pune would be addressed by our regional committee members on how to go about it legally. The idea is to use constitutional means to get action. After having such committees across the country, we would be having a national conference for our further plan of action.
ML: Would your forum clash with the Anna Hazare movement as both aim at fighting corruption?
DSS: No, in fact, both Anna and Swami Ramdev's movements are complementary and I would love to come together on a common platform sometime. It would make the anti-corruption crusade in India more formidable. I also met Sri Sri Ravi Shankar in his Ashram outside Bengaluru and he too is in favour of a collective platform.
ML: How would you go about achieving this mission of recovering such illegal funds deposited abroad? Is it possible to get it from foreign governments?
DSS: After some of us discussed the issue with highly placed government officials abroad, we were advised that if we register a FIR in India, then they would be obliged to assist us. We would be shortly lodging a complaint with the CBI seeking an FIR to be registered against unknown persons possessing bank accounts abroad. If the CBI declines to register the FIR then we will move the Court.
ML: What proof do you have that such money is definitely stashed in foreign banks?
DSS: The French government has given 78 names who have accounts in the HSBC Bank. Earlier the German government has already released names of 18 Indians who have bank accounts in the LGT Bank of Liechtenstein. The German officials have assured us that they would help us if we come via the legal process.
ML: Would ACACI remain a citizen platform or will it ultimately get a political flavour?
DSS: It is important that good people should join politics. People should vote for good candidates and not bother about which party will win. I don't want to be too ambitious - I am looking at 25 candidates around the country in various cities. Let see what happens - it depends on the changing scenario.

Court asks CBI to give copy of file on 2G scam to Subramanian Swamy
NEW DELHI Nov 9 : Janata Party chief Subramanian Swamy on Tuesday moved a special CBI court seeking a copy of a file relating to 2G spectrum allocation scam that was seized by CBI two years ago. Swamy alleged that the document would prove the "complicity" of the then finance minister P Chidambaram in the scam.
In an application before the court, Swamy said the file, relating to the Unified Access Services Licences (UASL) policy regarding sale of equity (lock-in period), was seized by CBI on October 22, 2009, during investigation. "These documents, with endorsements and signatures of P Chidambaram, prove his complicity in the instant scam," he said.
Allowing his plea, special CBI judge O P Saini directed CBI to provide a certified copy of the document to Swamy. The court, which had first asked Swamy to inspect the court records, directed CBI to submit the file after it found that the agency had not placed the file on record along with the chargesheets filed.
"Ahlmad (court staff) has reported that this file was not placed on record of this court along with the chargesheet by CBI. Complainant (Swamy) submits that he may be allowed to take the photocopy of the said file from the record of the CBI itself. After hearing the complainant, I am satisfied that a copy/certified copy of the aforesaid file would facilitate the prosecution of this complaint case. Accordingly, the CBI is directed to supply photocopy/certified copy of the file to the complainant at the earliest," the judge said.
During the hearing, Swamy told the court that he had applied to CBI for a certified copy of the file through a letter written to them on October 10. He said that in reply, CBI joint director Hitesh C Awasthy told him to approach the special court, before which the proceedings of the case were going on.
Along with his application, Swamy also annexed CBI's seizure memo, according to which the agency had conducted searches at the office premises of Access Services Cell of the Department of Telecom on October 22, 2009. During the search, 59 documents were seized by CBI which included the file relating to the UASL policy regarding sale of equity (lock-in period).
The court permitted Swamy to have a copy of the file from CBI after he said this file was necessary for the case. Meanwhile, the court deferred the matter till December 3 after Swamy said the order on his plea seeking a CBI probe against Chidambaram in the 2G scam was pending before the Supreme Court.
Speaking to mediapersons outside the court, Swamy said the file, which the CBI will provide him in pursuance to the court's order, was "very crucial" for the case. He said that on the next date of hearing, he would argue for Chidambaram to be made an accused in the case.
As per the CBI's chargesheet, Shahid Balwa-promoted Swan Telecom was allotted UASL for 13 circles for Rs 1,537 crore and it offloaded 45% of its shares in the licences before the rollout to UAE-based Etisalat for Rs 4,200 crore. Besides Swan, Unitech Wireless (Tamil Nadu) Pvt Ltd offloaded 60% of its shares to Norway-based Telenor for Rs 6,200 crore, CBI had said.

Weeding Out Corruption in India
By Cleo Pascal : (Associate Fellow, Royal Institute of International Affairs)
This is Part Two of a two part series on the roots of corruption in India, and some of what is being done to weed it out. This first part looked at causes of corruption in modern India. The second part looks at how the battle against corruption in India is being waged, and why winning that fight is critical not just for India, but also for global security.
Why Now?
Indians from all walks of life have been the real heroes of the modern anti-corruption movement in India. However, for a long time there was virtually no national-level civil society in India -- most activity was regional, language or religion-based. Much of the media, which could have acted as a national unifier, is owned by some of the same large companies that have benefitted from the existing system. As a result, there was no real challenge to the arbitrary misuse of power.
But several things have changed since the time of Nehru. And key among them are:
Economic liberalization
Positive effects of globalization (including a growing awareness of other ways of doing things)
Increased use of English
Social Media
Economic liberalization.
Until the end of the 1980s, most of the big companies in India were run by the public sector. This large economic turnover offered equally large opportunities for the misuse of funds by the 'corporate' sector and their political overseers. (As a side note, this is the current situation in Iran, where the Revolutionary Guard runs large sectors of the economy.)
Things began to change in 1992, with the economic liberalization policy of Indian Prime Minister P. V. Narasimha Rao. Public control of the 'commanding heights' of the economy was diluted. At the beginning, those personally closer to key government officials developed faster.
During this period of 'influence-based capitalism', many well-connected companies expanded quickly. Naturally, they also used their influence to get changes in policy that favored their businesses. The result was that the growth was often based not on business efficiencies, but on favorable policies.
Devesh Kapur, director of the Center for the Advanced Study of India at the University of Pennsylvania, describes how that affects the Indian middle class by saying: "This middle class is less about 'what the state can do for me' than 'the state is preventing me from doing what I want to do.'"
In the mid-1990s, there was a growth breakthrough in sectors unconstrained by regulations. For example, the vast regulatory system was slow to catch on to the IT sector and service industries. As a result of this blind spot, both sectors grew exponentially, and quickly became global players.
This has resulted in the creation of a new class of business people who have succeeded not through corruption, but in spite of it. While previously, industry grew through influence/corruption, the new private sector finds corruption not an asset, but a hindrance.
Positive Effects of Globalization.
This new globally competitive business sector is largely fluent in English and social mediasavvy. They see how things are being done elsewhere and want the same efficiencies and freedom from corruption at home.
And it's not just the business sector. The number of people with a vested interest in an honest system has exploded. From the newly educated middle class to those in rural areas, people are becoming aware that the local corrupt officials are part of a larger system that is smothering the country and stealing the future from their children.
Through the common use of English and technological innovations like cheap mobile phones and Internet access, a truly national Indian civil society is coming of age. It has seen that corruption is not necessary. For example, not long ago, something as simple as booking a rail ticket or flight could require a bribe. Now it can be done cleanly online. Before, getting a phone line put into a home or office took months and a pay-off. Now you can get a mobile phone and SIM card at the corner shop.
Times have changed. And, when it comes to corruption, the Indian public isn't going to take it anymore.
What now?
As understanding grows that corruption isn't fixable in a one-off solution, those who have been tracking and analyzing these issues for decades are stepping forward. On October 14th, India's newly formed Action Committee Against Corruption in India (ACACI) held its first official meeting. The Committee's core team consists of many key members of the brain trust who have been guiding the movement since the early days, and is a who's who of the anti-corruption wars.
Some of the members:
The Committee is chaired by Dr. Subramanian Swamy, a Harvard professor and former Indian government Law Minister. Firebrand Dr. Swamy has a track record of bringing to book some of the biggest political players so far caught up in the corruption scandals, including a governmentminister.
Prof R. Vaidyanathan, from the Indian Institute for Management Bangalore, has been systematically looking at the issue since the mid-1990s, producing groundbreaking research on the causes and reach of the challenge.
Journalist M. D. Nalapat wrote a series of columns in the 1970s condemning public sector illegalities and was forced to quit as editor of Mathrubhumi newspaper as long back as 1984 because of his anti-corruption coverage. When he was finally hired by the Times of India in 1989, his first story was about how the Chief Minister of Karnataka was giving away expensive land on the cheap to favorites. Another series on corruption in 1995 finally got him pushed out from theTimes, as well. Nalapat turned to academics and column writing. In a sign of the changing times, Nalapat recently returned to a staff position in journalism, becoming a columnist for the Sunday Guardian.
The Committee's objectives include analyzing, and proposing counters to, the root causes of corruption in India. A main goal is to give information to Indian civil society.
For many, social activist Anna Hazare, recently arrested and released in connection with his anti-corruption fast, has become an important symbol of the anti-corruption movement. However, there is growing concern that, in spite of his best intension, and those of his followers, his single shot solution (an anti-corruption superagency that itself, despite the best of efforts, risks becoming corrupt) may not be enough to inoculate the system from the debilitating parasite of corruption. The challenges are too complex and embedded. There is a growing need and demand for systemic solutions. Which is where the new Committee comes in.
While many brave individuals have been fighting the anti-corruption battles for a long time, they have been largely voices in the wilderness, until recently.
However, as these experts combine forces with the new wave of courageous, aware and engaged Indian civil society, there is a chance that the hold corruption has over India may start to weaken. Through the efforts of Indian civil society, India as a nation is truly coming of age.
This is something that will benefit not only India, but also those who are her partners. It's crucial for the West to understand and appreciate the monumental struggle now unfolding in India -- a critical ally in the fight for worldwide democracy, prosperity and secularism.

News Makers Of 2011: Subramanian Swamy
The Man to Whom UPA Fears
Subramanian Swamy is one of most mentioned names of 2011. Subramanian Swamy is turning out to be most dangerous man for UPA. More dangerous than anna hazare and baba ram dev. While Anna is biggest news maker of 2011 and his movement has touched millions of India and brought corruption issue at center stage , why subramanian swamy poses bigger challenge for UPA-2 is because subramanian swamy is fighting battle in court…
A lot of people ask the question that who is subramaniyam Swami. Well for those who dont know him , here is brief about him.
Subramaniyam swami is PHD in economics. He has studied in prestigious Indian Statistical Institute and Harvard university. He later on taught in harvard and IIT Delhi. Subramaniyam swamy is one of founder members of Janta Party. He was part of planning commission too. He prepared blue print for economic reforms in India during his tenure as cabinet minister in chandra shekar government. The blue print was later adopted and worked upon by dr man mohan singh during narshima rao government.
Subramaniyam swami is one of few politicians who have contested elections from different places including mumbai , uttar pradesh and tamil nadu . This reflects his nature where he doesnot shy away from taking on challenges .
Subramaniyam swami has one distinctive practice too..Despite not being a lawyer he himself argues in cases against him (yes there are many who have filed defamation cases against him) and also he argues in cases where he had filed petition.
He is arguing the infamous 2g spectrum case. He had written letter to dr manmohan singh on 2g spectrum scam and A Raja. When dr singh failed to do much about it , dr swami approached supreme court and what we saw after that is CBI inquiry , raja, kanimozhi going to jail.
Dr subramanian swamy’s next target is p c chidambaram and also Robert vadra whom dr swami alleges to be beneficiary of 2g spectrum scam. He also alleges that sonia gandhi’s two sisters received Rs 18000 crore each as bribe money from the scam.
Dr Swamy also questioned Sonia Gandhi’s citizenship and her right to become prime minister of India as per constitution.
Few months back dr subramanian swamy made news for his article on DNA where he alleged that “Muslims of India are being programmed by a slow reactive process to become radical and thus slide into suicide against Hindus”. He also called for disenfranchising non-Hindus who refuse to acknowledge their Hindu ancestry, prohibiting conversion from Hinduism to other religions, and annexing part of Bangladesh in retaliation for Bangladeshi illegal immigration in India.
Congress worker attacked his house in reaction to this article. Subramaniam swamy was slammed by liberals and seculars for the article. Subramaniam Swamy , never the less remains adamant and sticks to his view mentioned in article.
But what makes him , news maker of 2011 is not his article but his fight against government in 2g spectrum scam. The scam known as ‘Mother of All Scams’ had made India loose 1,76,000 crore Rs. If the case moves towards its logical conclusion , it would have huge impact on corruption in India , especially the nexus between corporates and politicians.

ACACI headed by Dr. Swamy to file FIR against unnamed persons on black money abroad
New Delhi, 3 Nov : A group of anti-corruption activists led by Subramanian Swamy will file a complaint with CBI seeking registration of FIR against unnamed persons with regard to black money stashed away in tax havens.
Addressing media here on Thursday, Swami, who heads an Action Committee Against Corruption in India (ACACI), said they will approach court, if CBI does not register the FIR.
“As per the present rules, the CBI has power to register FIR against unnamed persons having accounts in foreign banks. We will file complaint to CBI on October 28 and if they were not acting, we would approach court, like we did in 2G spectrum cases,” said Swamy.
“We will also give data of certain accounts and plead to court to issue Letters of Rogatory to seek information from tax havens. The action committee also demanded an Ordinance to be issued to nationalise all foreign accounts held by Indian citizens in tax havens,” he added.
The meeting was attended by anti-corruption crusaders like former CBI Joint Director BR Lall and S Kalyanaraman. The Committee also urged the Government to ban the Participatory Notes and probe on its original ownership, as suggested by the Tarapore Committee.
“Participatory Notes, routing hawla transactions is a major contributory cause of galloping inflation affecting the common man and further impoverishing people. The UPA Government was forced to keep silence due to the pressure of certain people, even after then NSA MK Narayanan warned against the terror link in stock exchange manipulation through this mechanism,” said Swamy, expressing full solidarity with the movements of Anna Hazare and Baba Ramdev against corruption.

Court right in denying bail to Kanimozhi, others in 2G case: Subramanian Swamy
NEW DELHI, 3 Nov : Janata Party chief Subramanian Swamy, who had approached court in the 2G scam case, on Thursday described the denial of bail to DMK MP Kanimozhi and seven others as a "correct decision" since they had committed "crime against the nation".
He said one cannot compare the case of Kanimozhi and others with former Goldman Sachs executive Rajat Gupta getting bail in a case in the United States.
"This is a correct decision. The CBI was pressurised to take a ridiculous stand of not objecting to bail applications of certain people while objecting to others," Swamy told reporters here.
He said courts had held that bail is a rule and jail is an exception. "In this case, jail is an exception because they committed a crime against the nation. Rajat Gupta's crime was not a crime against nation and it was just a case of manipulation. This is much more serious crime.
"These people looted the country," he alleged.
Swamy also said that the high-profile accused in the 2G scam may influence witnesses if given bail.
"These are not ordinary people, they are billionaires (with) all kinds of international connections. And consequently... witnesses could be affected by the atmosphere created by their going out and celebrations for them, holding rallies etc,"
Swamy told a TV news channel.
"Therefore, I think in that situation, it is a wiser thing to keep them in jail till at least the witness deposition is over," he added.
Swamy said that even though the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) was not soft on the accused, the agency was under pressure when it came to acting against the politicians named in the case.
"They (CBI) are not going soft on all the accused in the case but but where politicians are involved, they seem to have lot of pressure. They probably would prefer the court to tell them what they want to do," he said.
Swamy has also sought a CBI probe into the role of Home Minister P. Chidambaram in the spectrum allocation during his tenure as the finance minister.
His comments came as a Delhi court today dismissed bail pleas of Kanimozhi and seven others in the 2G spectrum allocation case with Special Judge O P Saini saying the charges levelled against them were of "very serious nature."

Release of 2G accused may influence witnesses: Dr. Swamy
New Delhi, Nov 3 (IANS) : Janata Party president Subramanian Swamy Thursday said the high-profile accused in the 2G scam should not be given bail as they may influence witnesses.
"These are not ordinary people, they are billionaires (with) all kinds of international connections. And consequently... witnesses could be affected by the atmosphere created by their going out and celebrations for them, holding rallies etc," Swamy told a TV news channel.
"Therefore, I think in that situation, it is a wiser thing to keep them in jail till at least the witness deposition is over," he added.
Swamy also said that even though the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) was not soft on the accused, the agency was under pressure when it came to acting against the politicians named in the case.

Swamy has also sought a CBI probe into the role of Home Minister P. Chidambaram in the spectrum allocation during his tenure as the finance minister.
The bail pleas of DMK MP Kanimozhi and seven other accused in the 2G spectrum allotment scam were Thursday dismissed by a CBI special court that said all the applications were without merit. They will continue to be lodged in the Tihar Jail.

Ranchi 29 Oct : Noted scholar and Janta Party president Subramanian Swamy advocated critical shift in thinking about Hinduism to make it politically viable to counter some of the burning issues of the country like corruption and terrorism.Swamy was speaking on the topic ‘Mahatma Gandhi and Hinduism’ on Saturday organised by the Hindustan News Agency in Ranchi.
Talking about India facing terrorism he said that the time has come for certain changes in our mindset about Hinduism. “It needs to be transformed and reformed to make it politically suitable to counter such threats. A soft approach will not work.
We need to be tough,” he said.Dismissing that talk with Maoists will bear any fruit he advised Chief Minister Arjun Munda, present on the dais to use State’s might to weed out Naxalism. “Maoists believe in power and weapons which needed to be countered effectively through force. Wherever force is required it must be applied, he added. He referred to the example of his home State Tamilnadu where he as Central Minister in the then Chandrasekhar-led Government had sternly dealt Tamil separatists after the Karunanidhi government was dismissed.
Similarly he staunchly supported the need of strategic population balance in Jammu & Kashmir to counter Islamic terrorism here. He demanded rehabilitation of displaced Kashmiri Pandits in J&K and retired military personnels.Terming Gandhi a true Hindu and secular by heart who used the weapons of non-violence against the mighty British Empire. “With the non-violence against mighty British Empire was a judicious decision of Gandhiji otherwise, the movement could have been suppressed.Swamy said that the philosophy of Gandhi about Hinduism and country needed to be interpreted in view of the modern day requirement. “The Congress party has forgotten Gandhiji but we need to popularise his thoughts”, he said.
He termed Jahawarlal Nehru, the first PM of India who initiated rot in the Indian politics and cherished social value, as mindless and a follower of Russian inspired socialism, market theory and hollow secularism which proved to be the bane for the country.
“My title often confuses foreigners as a saint and they approach me for some spiritual solace. I never pretend to be a saint or swamy. But a foreigner having Gandhi title is running the Congress and nation by proxy and pretends to be inheritor of Gandhi who had rejected foreigners.” Swamy made an indirect attack on Congress president in a lively discourse and punching satire for an hour.
He said that India chose to remain a secular country only because Hindus decided to remain secular. Hinduism and Indian, he referred as a universal religion and India as a pluralistic country which accommodated and gave shelter to oppressed and attracting millions to join its fold. Swamy hit hard at Muslim fundamentalism but praised intellectuals of the community to forge Hindu-Muslim unity.
Speaking on Gandhi and Hinduism, Munda said that vision of Gandhi about Gram Swaraj and politics must be revived for good governance. Another speaker Harivansh, chief editor of a Hindi daily said that Hinduism has always advocated social reform and the process must be continued.
